It takes over 1.5 million barrels of oil to manufacture a year’s supply of bottled water. That’s enough oil to fuel 100,000 cars. Whenever possible buy gallon jugs instead of bottles. Plastic is almost always the product of petroleum, a non-renewable resource. This makes recycling plastic even more important. Select paper over plastic at the grocery store. Paper quickly biodegrades which reduces the consumption of fuel and the output of toxins in the atmosphere.
